Regarding the Q&A on AC Contactor
sign_3.webp

How do I choose between HC2-09 and HC2-12 for my motor?

Match the contactor’s rated operational current (Ie) to your motor’s full load current (FLC). For a 2.2kW motor at 380V (FLC ~5A), HC2-09 (9A) is sufficient. For a 5.5kW motor (FLC ~12A), choose HC2-12 (12A) or higher.

Can I use an AC Contactor with a DC coil?

Yes, the HC2 series offers both AC and DC coil options. Specify your required control voltage (e.g., 24V DC, 110V DC) when ordering.

Do I need an auxiliary contact block?

Add auxiliary contacts if you need: status feedback (e.g., to a PLC), electrical interlocking (for reversing starters), or to control additional circuits (e.g., a pilot light). HC2 contactors accept snap-on auxiliary blocks.

What is the difference between AC-3 and AC-4 duty?

AC-3 is for starting and stopping a motor while it is running (normal operation). AC-4 is for starting, plugging, and inching (frequent stop/starts or reversing). For AC-4 duty, derate the contactor or select a larger model.

Will the HC2-25 fit on the same rail as my existing contactor?

HC2-09 to HC2-32 mount on 35mm DIN rail. HC2-40 and above require 75mm rail or screw mounting. Measure your existing contactor’s width and rail type before ordering.
